Leah Gacioch Leah
Leah Gacioch is a 2008 graduate of Colgate University with a degree in biology and the pursuit of medical school to earn a combined MD/MPH degree after working with InterVol.  As a student she had the opportunity to travel in 2006 as part of the first group of FAB volunteers, drafted alongside Sean Pennino below, to establish the first public computer lab in Belize.   Leah returned to Belize for a second time in 2008 to work with the cardiologist on the VMP trip.  Her aspirations of making a positive impact on the world, zeal for medicine and ambitious nature led her to the position she holds today as the Director of InterVol.
Sean Pennino Sean
Sean Pennino is presently the Program Manager of InterVol RUMS.  In 2002, InterVol got their first glimpse of Sean's potential when he aided a service trip to Rosebud.  His enthusiasm and work ethic lead him to be drafted first round in the 2006 InterVol Draft, chosen to work with FAB to build a computer lab for the Scouts in Belize.  Sean currently holds 4 InterVol all-time records; most notably, longest wheelchair wheelie in the Non-Electric DIvision.  His reputation at Sorting Parties and every day pickups has earned him the nickname "The Warehouse Warrior" coined by fellow employees and volunteers.  Although long term Sean hopes to hold position, he will be returning this fall to continue his studies of Physics at the University of Notre Dame as a side hobby.  Other impressive attributes to his resume - most boxes packaged in an hour (42), fastest forty-yard dash on cructches (15.3 seconds), and largest needle ever collected (4.5 feet,.  Unfortunately, the needle was discarded due to lack of an appropriately sized syringe.)
Barbara Madigan Barbara
Barbara Madigan, R.N., received her degree from the St. Mary's Hospital of Nursing and then stayed with the hospital working there for many years.  After that time she switched over to nursing in primary care where she remained until retirement.  Barbara’s motivation to keep active after retirement drove her to find a meaningful activity.  She had known Ralph Pennino as a resident and considered volunteering with InterVol.  In her words, her participation in InterVol was “made to be.”  Barbara continues to be an integral part of the InterVol team as she spends many hours at the warehouse, on top of managing the information phone line, and assisting with collection pickups and shipping orders.
Sandy Johnson Sandy
Sandy Johnson has been an LPN for thirty-two years now and has been bringing her expertise to InterVol ever since 1998.   Her involvement with InterVol has brought her to both the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota, as well as to Belize.  Beginning in 2007, Sandy assumed a new role as the Warehouse Supplies Expert acting as a valuable educational resource for many individuals.  Working with students from Notre Dame she taught them both how to scrub in for a procedure and how to assist with surgical cases.  During Sorting Parties Sandy is always your "go-to-woman" when you find an item that you want to learn more about.
Bob Kane
Bob
Bob Kane received his Bachelor's of Art from Middlebury College, but his love for learning seems to have always kept him in an educational environment. Today he is not only a member of the Harley School Faculty, but he is in the process of working towards his LPN at the Hildebrand Hospice & Palliative Care Center in Rochester, NY.  Over the years Bob has developed and teaches a Hospice curriculum to Harley junior and senior high school students.  His role has found him directing the Harley Hospice Service Learning in the United States, but also abroad to Ireland, India, Belize and the Dominican Republic.  On a more personal note, Bob will eat broccoli when asked to do so.  As part of InterVol, he is the acting Program Director of the Hospice Corps.

Meghan Shoemaker studied fine art at Boston University and then went on to complete her BFA in medical illustration at the Rochester Institute of Technology.   She brings a wonderful creative perspective to InterVol, aiding in the design of our publications and advertising productions.  In addition to working with InterVol, Meghan also runs her own design studio.  Her publishing accomplishments include company clients of Elsevier to Dartmouth Publishing Inc.  Meghan's interests also involve creating medical exhibits for legal cases and patient education pieces for physician's offices.
