The Warehouse How To Get Involved

InterVol relies on a network of donors who sponsor shipments to international locations.  For instance, working with local business man Jack O’Leary, for the first time, InterVol has been able to complete the distribution process with a regular recipient for the locally collected supplies and equipment. Previously, different organizations requested supplies, without a clear understanding of the process and their actual needs. Working with Jack O’Leary and the Catholic Diocese of Nairobi, Kenya, InterVol has been shipping supplies directly to the Diocese’s warehouse for distribution to the 46 hospitals and clinics they serve. By sending regular containers to the same recipient we are able to establish a long term relationship that allows for more communication on the needed supplies, helping to fine tune our collection, sorting and distribution.

Domestically, we work with other non-profits and individual donors to supply specific projects.  During the recent devastation of Hurricane Katrina, we worked with charities that were already there to ship necessary equipment for exam and treatment rooms for a temporary clinic. Exam tables, lights, crutches, canes and other badly needed equipment was shipped by tractor trailer to the makeshift care centers. Volunteers from the Rochester area also filled their cars and trucks with requested items that they drove down to Louisiana for distribution.
