What if I can’t make the Expo?

If you cannot attend the Expo, you must sign your E-Card and designate a proxy to pick up your bib. The proxy must sign the form and bring the following to the Expo:

  • A photocopy of the RUNNER’S (your) Photo ID (driver’s license, government ID, or passport)

  • A photocopy of the PROXY’S (their) Photo ID (driver’s license, government ID, or passport)

How do I get to the Gaylord Convention Center?

Paid parking may be limited, so participants are encouraged to take the free MCM Shuttle service or public transportation to reach the Gaylord:

  • Free MCM Shuttles run every 10 minutes on from 8:30 AM – 10 PM on Friday and 7 AM – 9 PM on Saturday from:

    • Yellow Metro stop at Eisenhower.

    • Green Metro stop at Branch Avenue.

    • Blue Metro stop at Van Dorn.

  • For the Metrobus, take the NH1 or NH2 line.

  • For the more scenic route:

    • Take the Blue or Yellow Metro to the King Street / Old Town Stop.

    • Take the Free King Street Trolley to the Alexandria waterfront.

    • Take a scenic 20 minute cruise across the Potomac to National Harbor aboard the Water Taxi. Roundtrip water taxi tickets are $16 adult / $10 children.

  • Uber is also available in the area.

Can I transfer or defer my registration?

We ask that you make every effort to avoid transferring or deferring. Should the occasion arise where you feel it is unavoidable, please contact Team InterVol’s Marathon Coordinator, Nicole Jones, immediately regarding your individual circumstances:

How do I join the Marathon Training Program?

Details will be emailed separately after you complete your registration to run the Marine Corps Marathon on Team InterVol.

I’m unfamiliar with the DC area. Which hotels are most convenient?

While we cannot recommend one hotel over another, the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center is a partner of the Marine Corps Marathon, and certainly any hotel within walking distance of the start or finish lines is advantageous.

Why am I not getting emails from the Marine Corps Marathon even though I am registered with Team InterVol?

When your minimum financial commitment is met, you will begin receiving direct emails from the Marine Corps Marathon in addition to Team InterVol.

What is the timetable for fundraising?

You must meet your minimum financial commitment by August 1, 2019. You may continue fundraising beyond your commitment until race day on October 27, 2019.

How do I get my case of wine?

Those who live in the Greater Rochester Area can pick it up at our headquarters in the Rochester Regional Health Riedman Campus at 100 Kings Hwy S, Ste 1200, Rochester, NY 14617 after you meet your fundraising goal. Out-of-town runners will get their case in Washington, DC, during Marine Corps Marathon weekend.

If your question was not answered here, please contact Team InterVol's Marathon Coordinator, Nicole Jones, at or 585-922-1997.
