With more than 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector, Nicole Jones Senftleben oversees the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of InterVol, serving as Executive Director. She ensures that InterVol achieves its mission, meeting the expectations of its benefactors, volunteers and medical professionals. Establishing sustaining working relationships with community groups, political and community leaders comes as second nature, as she received her Master’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in Non-Profit Administration. Additionally, her experience on federal congressional campaigns has increased her ability to oversee funding sources, develop fund-raising plans and increase the overall endowment of InterVol.

April Watkins is currently a clinical assistant professor at the University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing. Since 2011, April has been working with InterVol as our Haiti Nursing Director. She builds and manages volunteer coalitions out of Austin, TX for medical brigade trips through InterVol to Léogâne, Haiti. She has provided the medical assessment, triage, and treatment of over 700 Haitians in rural mobile clinics. April was also integral in coordinating the medical disaster response to Puerto Rico following the devastation of Hurricane Maria in 2017. April also leads teams to Brazil and Honduras.

Paul Borodin holds a Business Management Degree from Monroe Community College. He has thirty years of experience in the Safety & Security Division of Rochester General Hospital. Paul's extensive on-the-job training in bridging cultural gaps is an excellent fit for making and maintaining connections with other non-profits worldwide.

With a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and a Minor in Sustainability from the University of Tampa. Mitchell Carr works to support InterVol’s mission of growing equality in healthcare as our Sustainability Coordinator. Mitchell helps oversee the process of extending the life-cycle of unused medical supplies generated from hospitals and off-site clinical locations throughout Central and Western New York. Mitchell works directly with volunteers, vendors, and health system staff to increase donation collections and use new waste stream alternatives that include the packing and shipping of unused medical supplies to benefit those InterVol serves locally and worldwide.

Dr. Pennino earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame before receiving a medical degree from Georgetown University Medical School. He completed a Plastic Surgery Residency, followed by a Hand Fellowship, at the University of New Mexico, a General Surgery Residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center, and an Aesthetic Fellowship at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in New York City. Board certified in hand surgery, plastic surgery, and laser surgery, Dr. Pennino is Senior Vice President of the Rochester Regional Health Specialty Medical and Surgery Group, Chair of Surgery at Rochester Regional Health, and Chief of Surgical Services at Rochester General Hospital, as well as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Nancy Bond received her BSN from the University of Rochester in 1978. She worked at Rochester General Hospital as a nurse until 1993, and has since served as Vice President of Bond Financial Network. She is currently a member of the U of R George Eastman Circle, the co-chair of the U of R Rochester Philanthropy Council, and works with Water for South Sudan. Nancy has greatly enjoyed her time spent on mission trips to Belize with InterVol.

Ginny Clark received both her bachelor's and master's degrees in service leadership and innovation from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She joined Constellation Brands in January 1998 and has held various titles in the company. Today, she serves as Executive Director of The Sands Family Foundation. She has also managed a number of significant initiatives that have had a positive economic impact in our communities. Ginny has traveled with InterVol on mission trips to Haiti and is deeply involved in the Rochester community.

Peter Parts graduated with an Executive Master's in Business Administration in 1998 from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and sits on the Dean's Advisory Council at RIT's Saunders School of Business and the Flaum Eye Institute at the University of Rochester. He founded the “Sharpen Your Saw Day” event at RIT, and Peter is one of the Founders of the “Raise a Glass Foundation” and of the “Great American International Wine Competition”.

Dr. O'Connor earned his medical degree at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. He completed a Plastic Surgery and General Surgery Residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Additionally, Dr. O’Connor has received training in head and neck surgery at Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Board certified in plastic surgery, general surgery, and hand surgery, Dr. O’Connor is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Currently, he is the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Rochester General Hospital.

Amanda Burns attended University of Rochester where she received her B.A. in Political Science. She also received her J.D. from University at Buffalo Law School. Amanda is a partner at Ward Greenberg Heller & Reidy LLP where she counsels and represents corporations, institutions and individuals in business and commercial disputes, insurance recoveries and employment/discrimination matters. She further provides pro bono legal assistance to InterVol, as well as other organizations and individuals in the community, and serves on the board of Legal Assistance of Western New York (LawNY).

Marcie Hamilton attended Elmira College, where she received her Associates in Applied Science degree in Human Services and certification in Respiratory Therapy. For more than 15 years, Marcie provided respiratory care as a therapist in the respiratory and pulmonary field in Rochester, NY. Marcie is co-chair of the Victor-Farmington Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Basket Program, and has served in various advisory board roles with the Athletic Booster Club and PTSA at Victor Central Schools, and the Victor YMCA. She currently works at St. Patrick's Preschool in Victor.

Michael Szuromi attended Cornell University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He began his career with DGA Builders in 1985, coming from a national firm which specialized in concrete. He quickly established a reputation for honesty and integrity with each of his many clients and projects.

Cindy Gordon graduated from SUNY Delhi in 1971 with a degree in marketing and received her R.N. degree from SUNY Canton in 1976. After working as a clinical nurse for 27 years, she returned to complete her B.S.N. in 2005 from Roberts Wesleyan College, then went on to earn her M.S.N. in 2009 through Walden University. Cindy recently retired as Director of Telemedicine from Rochester General Hospital.

Dr. Cabral earned his medical degree at Boston University. He completed Family Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynecology from the University of Rochester Medical Center. Additionally, Dr. Cabral obtained board certifications in Hospice & Palliative Care, and Clinical Informatics. Currently, he is a Medical Director at Rochester Regional Health Center.

Dan is a longtime supporter of InterVol thanks to his friendship with Dr. Ralph and Dr. Tim. He is an active volunteer with Rochester Regional Health where he currently serves as Chair of the Health Care Services Board overseeing Rochester General and Unity Hospitals and their affiliates. Dan is a founding member and Chair of the GRIPA Board. He is the President Emeritus of the Al Sigl Community of Agencies which he led for 29 years. Dan was Honorary Chair of Off the Vine in 2017, and his trip to Belize in March 2018 changed his life.

Hugh Thomas attended Johns Hopkins University, where he received a B.A. in Economics. He then went on to receive his J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law. Hugh recently retired as Chief Administration Officer from Rochester Regional Health, and had served as Corporate Counsel and Executive Vice President since 2001.
