Ecole l'Erudit De Leogane
Investing in Minds. Transforming Lives.
With every lesson we are investing in the future of Haiti—changing lives by unlocking the power of education.
At Erudit School, students laugh, learn, grow, and prepare for a future full of opportunity. We now serve Haitian Grades 1 through 9, have launched a Trade School offering practical vocational training, and built a sustainable water filtration project to serve the school and community alike.
But we’re not finished. Our long-term vision includes completing classrooms through Haitian Grade 13, finishing construction of the second floor, and expanding both the Trade School and solar infrastructure that powers it.
Every step forward is made possible through the dedication of our staff, the determination of our students, and the generosity of supporters who believe in the power of education. Together, we are building more than a school - we are building a future where every child has the chance to thrive, lead, and uplift their community.
“Education is the key to the future. It opens doors, breaks the cycle of poverty, and empowers individuals to build a better world.”
~Michaëlle Jean
GROWTH RECAP
SINCE OUR FOUNDING:
2018–2020: Purchased land and constructed six classrooms (Grades 1–6) and a kitchen.
2021–2022: Built the administration office, warehouse, and computer room. Launched an agriculture project teaching sustainability and civic responsibility.
2023: Added Grade 8 and began construction on the second floor.
2024: Launched Grade 9 and opened Trade School programs in Plumbing, Computer Operations, Graphic Design, Mechanics, and
English. Installed Starlink internet and expanded solar power.
The campus is under construction in Leogane. The L-Shape two floor building will house 13 classrooms (1-13) plus eight toilets (boys and
girls), a kitchen, the vocation training center, a computer room, a clinic, a library and the administration building.
INNOVATION & SUSTAINABILITY
Water Filtration System: A solar-powered water system now serves the school and generates income through community water sales, projected to yield over $10,000 annually.
Trade School Model: While our first year is operating at a modest loss, we project to reach financial break-even by Year 3 with enrollment growth.
Solar Power Expansion: To sustain growth, we must now add 14 solar panels and 2 lithium batteries to support both the school and Trade School energy needs.

MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE
Two structures were formed to oversee the operation of the school.
“Friends of Erudit”: This group of seven people from the United States includes supporters and donors who have traveled to Haiti many times. They meet twice a year - at the beginning of the year to review the fundraising strategy, and at the end of the summer to assess project needs and launch new fundraising efforts.
A Foundation called “FONSEH”: Based in Haiti, this foundation is led primarily by members of the Rotary Club of Léogâne, including two veteran educators who oversee academics and a skilled local engineer who supervises construction for a symbolic fee. Daily operations and all expenses are managed by Jean Marc Brissau. Each day, Brissau reviews receipts and plans next steps based on the budget. Each period, a full financial report is submitted to InterVol.
